Doc. PhDr. Alojz  Nociar, CSc., Slovak Republic, clinical psychologist. He worked for 12 years at various wards of the Regional Psychiatric Hospital, then for 12 years as the researcher and then Head of the Social programs division at the National Centre for Health Promotion, then 10 years in the state administration at the Office of the Government of the Slovak Republic, and recently works as the university teacher at the private Health Care and Social work University of saint Elisabeth and the researcher at the Research Institute for Child Psychology and Pathopsychology. Received his academic degree “PhDr.” (philosophy doctor) from the Comenius University Philosophical Faculty in Bratislava - Cathedra of Psychology after State rigorous exams; then scientific degree “CSc.” (candidate of psychological sciences, equiv. to PhD) given by the University Scientific Board after 5 years of postgraduate studies and dissertation: “Alcohol Dependence – Screening and Personality Variables”) in 1991; and received an academic – scientific title “Doc.”: Docent (specialty – Social work) from the Universitas Tyrnaviensis in Trnava, Faculty of Health care and Social work for the scientific monograph “Alcohol, Drugs and Personality” in 2005.

 
He is sole author of six scientific monographs, 2nd author of three books, he standardised three tests with manuals, author of 33 scientific articles in national and international journals, translator of several scientific monographs from English into Slovak, he adapted six PC educational programs, aimed at licit and illicit drug prevention in youth. Coordinated several national and international programs and projects, e.g. coordination of ESPAD1995, 1999, 2003 and 2007 studies in Slovakia, International European Drug Abuse Treatment Training Project, WHO national counterpart for the 1st and 2nd phases of the European Alcohol Action Plan (from 1994 till 2005) in Slovakia, Extension of the First treatment demand Indicator from City to the National level in the Countries of Central and Eastern Europe. Except of research, scientific and training activities he is a member of the Union of Slovak Writers. (Besides science also literary production: four books).
